Resources are becoming increasingly available for local authorities, businesses and other stakeholders in the region to further the development of the touristic capacity of the Danube Bend area.
Joint thinking, planning and cooperation at regional level are key to ensure that resources are accessed and used effectively. This is why the founders have created Börzsöny Gate Innovation Cluster.
The primary objective of creating the Cluster was to develop a regional tourism attraction development program. The development plan is harmoniously integrated with the 2021-2027 Spatial Development Strategy of Pest County Regional Authority, the Hungarian Tourism Agency 2.0 Program, while the Börzsöny – Danube Bend Strategy has also been developed under the leadership of the Active Ecotourism Development Center.
An important aspect taken into consideration in the early planning stage was to follow the logic of the attraction and basic infrastructure development based on the new destination-centered approach, with special regard to economic, social and environmental sustainability. In addition, it is important to ensure that attractions are networked, built-in or complementary to each other in order to provide the best user experience to visitors.
The Cluster which has been created with the support of local NGOs, service providers, entrepreneurs, businesses, tourism and development professionals, and supported by an unprecedented professional cooperation, is steadily expanding its membership in the region.
